The ancient greek philosopher Socrates once said that, “The unexamined life is NOT worth living.”
I think what Socrates meant is that each of us needs to take a look deep inside ourselves and challenge our own beliefs and pre-conceived ideas. The more firmly planted those ideas are, the more we need to confront those biases. That we must continuously pursue wisdom, knowledge and eventually enlightenment.
This show may occasionally attempt to rise to that high and noble height.
What you can count on is a program that will challenge the notion of power. Whether it’s political power, white supremacy or the accepted conventions of society.
In between that, Katey and I will spend time looking at the latest political and social news, have a few guests in studio and hopefully break a few rules.

From the Pioneer Press, and I Quote - “We’re extremely disappointed that Rep. Pinto has decided to abuse the rules of the House to call two gun control bills,” said Bryan Strawser, chairman of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus PAC. “His Gun Violence Restraining Order bill allows a citizen’s firearms to be confiscated without due process, while the universal background check legislation poses a significant burden upon law-abiding citizens and will do little to deter criminal misuse of firearms.”
Well here is the truth - Again, I’m quoting the Pioneer Press.
“The court petition would include such information as violations of other restraining orders; any history of threats of violence; any felony arrests, or misdemeanor stalking or domestic assault arrests; “the unlawful and reckless use, display, or brandishing of a firearm”; and any evidence of drug or alcohol abuse, weighed against any attempts at rehabilitation.”
“The court would require a “preponderance of the evidence” to issue the order — a lesser standard than the “beyond a reasonable doubt” standard which is required for criminal
convictions. The order’s duration, set by the court, could be anywhere from six months to two years.”
“Erin Zamoff, who you interviewed Katey, and is the head of Minnesota Moms Demand Action, a gun-safety advocacy group, said “both of these measures would help keep guns out of the hands of people with dangerous histories.” Both bills were tabled by the Republican controlled committee. Which essentially means - they may lay dormant again for years. And guess who else is attacking these bills Katey?
• HF 1669 would require criminal background checks for all gun sales.
• HF 1605 would allow law enforcement and family members to petition a court to prohibit a specific person from possessing
